Around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Garrett Downs conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of South Day Street for a license plate violation.  Investigation revealed that the driver, 27-year-old Cristhian Jesus Fuentes Flores of Brenham, had two local traffic warrants that were confirmed by dispatch.  Flores was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for his warrants of No Driver’s License and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

Shortly before 12:45 a.m. today, Corporal Tina Bruno stopped a vehicle for unsafe speed in the 2100 block of Highway 290 West.  Police say that the driver, 31-year-old Daniel Arturo Calvillo Chia of Tomball, showed indicators of being under the influence of alcohol while driving.  After standardized field sobriety tests were completed, there were clues that indicated Chia was driving while intoxicated.  He was placed into custody, and a probable cause search of the vehicle revealed an open alcoholic container.  Chia was transported to the Washington County Jail and booked in for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container.
