CUBS CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT WITH A 60-54 WIN OVER A&M CONSOLIDATED
The Brenham Cub Basketball Team punched their ticket to the playoffs with a 60-54 come from behind win over the A&M Consolidated Tigers last (Tuesday) night at the Brenham High School Gym.
The Tigers outscored the Cubs 17-15 in the first quarter.
Both defenses then clamped down, but A&M Consolidated still outscored Brenham 8-7 in the second quarter to take a 25-22 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Cub offense then exploded in the third quarter. Brenham outscored the Tigers 25-16 in the period, which gave the Cubs a 47-41 lead.
Both teams then played to a 13-13 standstill in the fourth quarter. With the victory, Brenham is now 22-8 overall and 8-1 in district.
Chris Guidry led the way with 15 points. Isaac Powell added 12 points. Jayden Hebert and Roderick Martin finished with nine points each.
Next up, the Cubs will be traveling to Bryan Rudder on Friday.
