#25 BLINN WOMEN BLOW PAST COASTAL BEND FOR 62-44 ROAD WIN

The 25th-ranked Blinn College women's basketball team earned its third consecutive Region XIV victory with a 62-44 rout of Coastal Bend College on Wednesday in Beeville, Texas.

The Buccaneers improved to 17-4 overall and 5-1 in the region standings.

"This was a good team win on the road," Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. "All 14 players that suited up got good minutes and contributed big in the victory."

The Bucs controlled the game from start to finish, building a 14-5 lead by the end of the first period before pushing their advantage to 30-11 at halftime.

Blinn led 48-30 heading into the fourth quarter.

For the game, sophomore forward Tocarra Johnson paced the Bucs with 14 points, freshman guard Jasey Campbell followed with 11, and sophomore forward DJ Kincaid tallied nine.

Blinn's season continues with a region road trip to Tyler Junior College at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Tyler.
