BRENHAM POLICE ARREST TWO ON INTOXICATION CHARGES
Two Brenham men face intoxication charges after separate arrests on Thursday.
Around 4:30 p.m., Brenham Police Sergeant Jimmy Ha responded to a welfare concern in the 1100 block of South Austin Street. Upon further investigation, police determined that 29-year-old Matthew Garcia was intoxicated. Garcia was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Public Intoxication.
Just before 11 p.m., officers made a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the 600 block of West Val Verde Street. Police say the driver, 30-year-old Kurt Lane Koronka, was intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle. Koronka was placed into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to the Washington County Jail without incident.
