MACHINERY ACCIDENT CAUSES MAN’S DEATH IN FAYETTE COUNTY
A male subject was killed in a machinery accident on Thursday morning in Fayette County.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that his office received a 9-1-1 call from a Sand & Gravel pit on Rudolph Road near Krenek Road in the Ellinger area, around 11:30am, requesting EMS.
Fayette County EMS, the Ellinger Fire Department, and Deputy Joe Gonzales responded to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined the scene would be a recovery effort.
A Command Post was established on the scene by the Ellinger Fire Department and requests through the Office of Emergency Management were made for Specialized Technical Rescue Resources.
The Bryan Fire Department Technical Rescue Team, McCourt & Sons Equipment Company, & Delgado’s Wrecker Service all were notified and responded to the scene.
Extensive recovery efforts were complete around 6:30 pm, at which time all units cleared the scene.
Sheriff Korenek extended his gratitude to all responders and private companies that responded and assisted with this incident. He also offered sincere thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family, friends, and co-workers.
The victim’s name has not been released until family members are notified.
