RUDDER CLINCHES PLAYOFF SPOT WITH WIN OVER CUBETTES

The Bryan Rudder Lady Ranger Basketball Team clinched a playoff spot last (Friday) night with a 56-27 victory over the Brenham Cubettes.

The Lady Rangers jumped out to an early lead by outscoring Brenham 10-6 in the first quarter, and 9-4 in the second quarter to take a 19-10 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Rudder then blew the game open in the second half by outscoring the Cubettes 16-6 in the third quarter and 21-11 in the fourth quarter to claim the victory.

Antyiahna Lang led Brenham with 13 points.

It was Seniors Night at the Brenham High School Gym with Yazmine Gaines, Shamiah Mathis, Jalayla Hancock, and Janiah Whitley playing their final home for Brenham.

The Cubettes will wrap up their regular season on Tuesday night at Lake Creek.

Elsewhere in District 17-5A: College Station got past Lake Creek 49-44, and A&M Consolidated picked up a 34-22 win over Montgomery. Huntsville had a bye.
