UNITY THEATRE TO OPEN ‘THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL’ THURSDAY

  

A story about the true meaning of home begins its three week run at Unity Theatre in Brenham tonight (Thursday).

“The Trip to Bountiful”, a drama by Horton Foote, will play on Unity’s Main Stage from tonight to February 23rd

The story follows the journey of Carrie Watts, who longs to escape the cramped Houston apartment she lives in with her son, Ludie, and her domineering daughter-in-law, Jessie Mae, and return one last time to her hometown of Bountiful, Texas.

With Ludie and Jessie Mae in hot pursuit, Carrie manages to evade them, only to discover that her beloved Bountiful is no longer the same as she remembered it. 

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. 

Tonight’s preview performance will be followed by a talk-back with the cast and crew.
