The Blinn College basketball team dropped a Region XIV road tilt to Tyler Junior College 85-72 on Saturday in Tyler, Texas.

The Buccaneers dropped to 12-11 overall, and 8-7 in region play.

"I thought we came out and played hard, but give credit to Tyler because they played really well," Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. "We were right there to make a run at it in the end, but we just couldn't capitalize."

The Apaches used a flurry of 3-pointers to build their lead in the first half and took a 45-40 advantage over the Buccaneers into the intermission.

Tyler began pulling away in the second half, and while Blinn trimmed its deficit to seven points twice, it couldn't get any closer.

Bucs sophomore forward Anthony Isaac led his team with 24 points and 13 rebounds to record his 10th double-double of the year.

Sophomore forward London Maiden and sophomore guard Reese Miller added 14 and 13 points respectively. Issac and sophomore guard Jaden Andrew dished out five assists apiece.

Blinn's season continues with a region home bout against No. 19 Angelina college at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kruse center in Brenham.
