MAIN STREET BRENHAM TO HOST ‘RECOLLECTIONS’ DOCUMENTARY SCREENING FEB. 22

Main Street Brenham invites the public to an evening of reflection and celebration at an upcoming documentary screening.

“Recollections: Volume 3” will be shown on Saturday, February 22nd at 11 a.m. at The Barnhill Center.

The documentary captures the unique and often untold stories of Brenham, focusing on the impact of segregation on the Black community, the contributions of the Jewish community, the legacy of Brenham’s historic pharmacies and the leadership of former Mayor Reese Lockett.

In 2015, Main Street Brenham started compiling a collection of memories and imagery from Brenham’s past.  Through personal stories and firsthand accounts, “Recollections” gives voice to the individuals whose lives shaped Brenham into what it is today.

Main Street Manager Leigh Linden expressed gratitude to the individuals who have given their time, memories and experiences.  She said, “This screening is an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate our shared history, and honor those who have paved the way for us.”

The screening event is free and open to the public.
