Davis later came home on a passed ball to cut the Johnson advantage down to 5-2. Later in the inning, Kinley Antkowiak walked, and then scored on an RBI double by Avery Maurer to make it 5-3.

Brenham had one more chance in the bottom of the fifth inning. McKenzie Tiemann led it off with a double, and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Davis, which cut the Johnson lead to 5-4.
