WEIMAR ENDS BURTON’S SEASON IN THE AREA ROUND 62-46
The season came to end for the Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team as they fell to the Weimar Ladycats 62-46 last night in Fayetteville.
After Burton had taken an early lead, Weimar bounced back to win the first quarter 16-8. The Lady Panthers outscored the LadyCats 14-12 in the second quarter to cut the lead to six points 28-22 at halftime.
Weimar took control in the second half of the game and never relinquished it. The LadyCats outscored Burton 15-11 in the third quarter and 19-13 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Lexi Broesche led the Lady Panthers with 12 points. Aerynn Huntsman and Valerie Hernandez had 10 points each.
Jennifer Lopez, who is Burton's lone senior, finished with seven points.
The Lady Panthers end the season with a 16-12 record.
