BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO GAS ODOR, TRASH CAN FIRE
The Brenham Fire Department responded to one call Saturday morning and another early this (Monday) morning.
At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, units were called out to Wild Ones Baby Boutique, 206 West Alamo Street, for a report of a gas odor. Firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived to find a small leak by the meter. The gas department repaired the leak, and the fire department returned to service.
At 12:30 a.m. today, BFD personnel went out to the Brenham Park Apartments, 500 College Avenue, for a reported structure fire. While they were enroute, dispatch advised it was a trash can on fire on a balcony. Law enforcement used a fire extinguisher on the trash can before firefighters arrived. Once they made location, they cooled the area and the trash can. The department reported no damage to the building and no injuries.
