BRENHAM POLICE MAKE ARRESTS FOR NARCOTICS POSSESSION, UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLE USE, DWI
Three people were arrested between Friday and Sunday by Brenham police.
Approaching 11:30 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Thiel Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Police say the driver of the vehicle, 17-year-old Gregory Ortiz of Chappell Hill, was allegedly in possession of narcotics and a firearm. Ortiz was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
Just before 5:30 p.m., Officers Danielle Corrado and Brayten Rolling conducted a traffic stop near the 2000 block of Highway 290 West. Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen by the Houston Police Department. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 31-year-old Natasha Victoria Mealer of Houston, who was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Then on Sunday, around 2:45 a.m., Corporal Grayson Marburger responded to the area of the 2600 block of Schulte Boulevard in reference to a crash. Upon further investigation, police say they determined that the driver, identified as 63-year-old Jacqueline Howell of Hempstead, was driving while intoxicated. Howell was taken into custody and booked in at the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated.
