SEVERAL RAILROAD CROSSINGS IN WASHINGTON, BURLESON COUNTIES TO CLOSE FOR REPAIRS
Various railroad crossings along the Highway 36 corridor in Washington and Burleson counties are slated to be closed starting this week, with one listed to start today (Monday), in order for BNSF Railway to complete needed crossing repairs.
In notice sent to KWHI this (Monday) morning, TxDOT says the crossings affected by the closures include:
- The crossing at FM 109 in Washington County, anticipated to be closed for repairs today, February 24th;
- The crossing at FM 389 (College Avenue) in Washington County, expected to be closed for repairs on Thursday, February 27th;
- The crossing at FM 390 in Washington County, projected to be closed for repairs on Friday, February 28th;
- The crossing at FM 1361 (8th Street) in Burleson County, planned to be closed for repairs Monday and Tuesday, March 3-4.
BNSF will have message boards in place to alert drivers, who should plan for alternate routes or take the detour routes provided during the closures.
