HEMPSTEAD ISD NAMES NEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH/ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Hempstead, TX – Hempstead Independent School District is excited to name Damian Judge as the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. With a wealth of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels, Judge brings a strong vision for athletic excellence, student development, and community engagement.

With over two decades of coaching experience, Judge has served as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Houston Madison High School and Lytle High School, where he led teams to playoff appearances and implemented successful athletic programs. His leadership extends beyond the field, having served on administrative teams, mentored student-athletes, and overseen multimillion-dollar athletic facility improvements.

Judge's coaching background also includes collegiate experience at Midwestern State University and Hardin-Simmons University, where he contributed to conference championships and player development at the NCAA Division II and Division III levels.

In his most recent roles as Offensive Coordinator at Spring High School and Aldine Davis High School, Judge helped guide high-powered offenses to playoff success, with teams averaging over 35 points per game. His dedication to student success is evident in his ability to increase player participation, implement leadership programs, and promote student-athletes to the next level.

"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Judge to Hempstead ISD," Superintendent Herbert O’Neil said. "His passion for student success, combined with his experience building competitive athletic programs, will be a tremendous asset to our students, staff, and community."

Judge’s commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes aligns with Hempstead ISD’s mission to foster excellence in academics, athletics, and student character. He is eager to build a culture of hard work, integrity, and community pride within the district’s athletic programs.
