IOLA SHUTOUTS OUT BURTON 2-0 IN DISTRICT OPENER
The Burton Panther Baseball Team (5-6) dropped their district opener to the Iola Bulldogs 2-0 on Tuesday night.
Iola's Brody Vaughn pitched a complete game two-hit shutout, and struck out 16 batters. He also did not walk anyone.
Braydon Martin was the only Panther to reach base. He had a pair of singles in the game.
Eli Jaeger took the tough luck loss on the mound for Burton. He pitched six innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs, one walk, and striking out seven.
The teams will face off again this (Wednesday) afternoon, but this time it will be in Burton beginning at 4:30pm.
