The Blinn College men’s basketball team’s season came to a close Thursday with a 64-56 loss to Lee College in the quarterfinal round of the Region XIV Tournament in Baytown, Texas.
The Buccaneers’ concluded the year with a 17-14 record.
Blinn found itself in a hole in the first half as the Navigators built a 41-20 halftime advantage. The Bucs fought back after the intermission and cut Lee’s lead down to six with less than 7 minutes remaining, but the Navigators held on for the win.
“We got buried in the first half, but our guys never stopped playing,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “We fought until the end, we just got behind too much too early to come all the way back.”
Sophomore Anthony Isaac tallied his 15th double-double of the season with 14 points and 19 rebounds, and sophomore guard Reese Miller also poured in 14 points. Freshmen guards Jakeel Registe and Dashawn Ceaser added nine and seven points, respectively. Sophomore guard Jaden Andrew had six assists.
