WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO HOLD ANOTHER BUDGET WORKSHOP

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will hold a second workshop on Tuesday to discuss the district’s 2025-26 budget.

The proposed budget is $1,903,610, up $215,635 from the existing budget.  The increase includes an additional $153,000 for personnel costs, another $55,735 for professional and contracted services, and $6,900 in other new operating costs.

After the workshop, board members will look to formally set the date, time and location for a public hearing on the budget.  The budget calendar proposes that the hearing be held during the board’s regular meeting on April 22nd.

In other business, the board will consider changes to the board of directors policy manual.  The item was set to come up at the board’s meeting in February, but needed to be tabled.

Board members will then go through monthly reports.

The board will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office in Brenham at 1301 Niebuhr Street.
