BURTON POWER LIFTERS COMPETE IN BOYS STATE POWERLIFTING MEET

Two members of the Burton Panther Powerlifting Team were among the student athletes from local high schools that took part in the Texas State Powerlifting Meet in Abilene this past weekend.

Jackson Morey was 10^th in the 123-lb. weight class. Morey had a 335-lb. squat, a 220-lb. bench press, and a 345-lb. dead lift. He finished with a combined lift of 900 pounds.

Mark Odom finished 8^th in the 132-lb. weight class. Odom had a 425-lb. squat, a 250 lb. bench press, and a 425-lb. dead lift. He had a combined lift of 1,100 pounds.

Also competing were:

Tristen Yen of Snook was 12^th in the 132-lb. weight class with a combined lift of 1,035 pounds.

Cooper Osborne of Columbus was 3^rd in the 198-lb. weight class with a combined lift of 1,435 pounds.

Juan Casas of Sealy was 16^th in the 198-lb. weight class with a combined lift of 1,380 pounds.

Erick Guevara of La Grange finished 8^th in the 242-lb. weight class with a combined lift of 1,595 pounds.

Isaac Garza of Giddings was 15^th in the 242-lb. weight class with a combined lift of 1,540 pounds.

Peyton Dees of Giddings finished 3^rd in the Super Heavyweight division with a combined lift of 1,650 pounds.
