WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FOUR ON DRUG, INTOXICATION CHARGES
Four people were booked in on Monday by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in two separate incidents.
Approaching 5:45 p.m., Corporal Zavala attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 3600 block of Old Gay Hill Road for a brake light violation. The driver stopped in a private drive, immediately distancing himself from the vehicle and displaying what the sheriff’s office indicated as unusual behavior. Due to detecting an odor of marijuana, the sheriff’s office searched the vehicle and reported finding narcotics. Neither the driver nor the occupants claimed ownership, and all were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
The driver, 22-year-old Cristian Yovani Sanchez Cuevas of Brenham, was charged with Possession of Marijuana Less Than 2oz. and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams. 23-year-old Xavier Jeremiah Angel Martinez of Brenham was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams, and two counts of Possession of Marijuana Less Than 2oz. 19-year-old Javonte Andre Mader of Somerville was charged with Possession of Tobacco as a Minor, Possession of Marijuana Less Than 2oz. and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams.
Then around 10:45 p.m., Corporal Zavala responded to a reckless driver call near Highway 290 West and Three Oaks Lane. Contact was made with the driver, who reportedly displayed signs of intoxication. 37-year-old Esley Santana Alvarez of Round Rock was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail without incident.
