BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. CALLED OUT FOR MULTIPLE FALSE ALARMS
The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Thursday and once early this (Friday) morning, all for alarms that were later determined to be false.
Around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, firefighters went out to a fire alarm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 305 West Third Street. Units found that the alarm system had activated due to a faulty detector, so they cleared the call.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., units were dispatched to an alarm at The Home Depot, 2801 Wood Ridge Boulevard. They discovered that the alarm system went off due to a malfunction of the dry fire protection system, so they returned to service.
Just before midnight, BFD members were called back out to St. Paul’s for another alarm, which was also caused by a faulty detector.
A few minutes past 3:15 a.m. today, the department responded to an alarm at Walmart, 203 Highway 290 West. Personnel determined that the alarm system activated when the sprinkler system was recharged after maintenance. All units returned to the station.
