CHARGES FOR SIX ARRESTED BY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INCLUDE EVASION, DWI, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported six arrests between Tuesday and Sunday.
Around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, Corporal Zavala attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 105 for speeding. The driver failed to stop, resulting in a pursuit reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph. Deputies deployed stop sticks, disabling the vehicle near the 18000 block of Highway 105. The driver then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Ultimately, 21-year-old Jerald Dewayne Adams of Navasota was apprehended by deputies and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking. Adams was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, Reckless Driving and No Seatbelt. Deputies were assisted by the Navasota Police Department.
Around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Sergeant Himebaugh responded to a reckless driver call near the 7000 block of Highway 290 East. The vehicle was stopped near FM 1155, with the driver said to be showing signs of impairment. The driver, 32-year-old Juan Pablo Coronado Martinez of Houston, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Alcohol Container and No Driver’s License.
Approaching 11:15 p.m., Deputy Faske conducted a traffic stop on FM 1697 for no taillights. The driver was reported to have shown signs of intoxication and was taken into custody. 46-year-old Shawn Patrick O’Brien of Carmine was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Sunday, nearing 1:45 a.m., Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop near Highway 290 and Gun and Rod Road for a suspect vehicle involved in a prior disturbance call. The sheriff’s office said that the driver, 32-year-old Carlos Leonel Hernandez Camacho of Brenham, showed signs of intoxication. He was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and No Driver’s License.
Shortly after 5:15 p.m., Corporal Zavala initiated a traffic stop in the 6500 block of Highway 36 North for an expired registration. The sheriff’s office reported detecting an odor of marijuana and, after conducting a search of the vehicle, finding THC concentrate chocolates and drug paraphernalia. The driver, 23-year-old Michael Jonathan Cuevas of Brenham, and passenger, 21-year-old Raylee Jane Meyer of Brenham, were both placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail. Both Cuevas and Meyer were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, with Meyer receiving additional charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport.
Well. They doing these things to themselves. I know they raise right. And I think everyone who’s in drugs should pay. The dealers should have be charged more and by state law get the death penalty.
