BLINN CLAY SHOOTOUT SETS A NEW FUNDRAISING RECORD

After setting a new record for fundraising last year, the Blinn College Clay Shootout managed to top itself this year.

According to Blinn College Foundation Executive Director Susan Myers, the 8th Annual Clay Shootout raised a new record $146,000.

That number beat out last year’s then-record total of $138,000.

The Clay Shootout is hosted by the Blinn Alumni and Friends Association and the Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen Association.

The event was held this past Friday at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range near Snook.

Proceeds from the Shootout go towards scholarships and athletic equipment for the Blinn College Athletic Department.

Awards were given to the top teams, as well as the top individual male, female, and youth shooters.

The Shootout, which started in 2015, has become Blinn’s largest fundraising endeavor.  The event was paused in 2020 and 2021 due to CO-VID, but returned in 2022, and has been growing each year.
