BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS WEDNESDAY TO DUMPSTER FIRE
The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Wednesday.
At 12:30 p.m., firefighters received a report of an alarm going off at a home in the 2200 block of Creekwood Lane. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the home. Upon meeting with the homeowner, she advised one of her smoke detectors was going off, but no smoke or fire was found inside. The department advised the homeowner to have her alarm company check out the system.
Shortly after 5:15 p.m., BFD personnel were dispatched to Bluebonnet Cleaners, 2622 Highway 36 South, for a report of a dumpster fire. They arrived on location to find a small dumpster fully involved. The department used tank water from its fire engine to extinguish the fire. All units then returned to service.
