EARLY VOTING TOTALS JUST SHY OF 1,800; TUESDAY LAST DAY TO VOTE EARLY
Early voting heads into its final day today (Tuesday) before the elections this Saturday.
According to Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, Monday brought in 459 people, surpassing the previous high of 422 on Friday. Thus far, there have been 1,796 early votes cast.
Making up Monday’s numbers were 452 voters in the Brenham ISD trustee election, 211 in the Brenham City Council and City of Brenham charter amendment elections, 126 in the emergency services district proposal for the Chappell Hill and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Departments, and seven for the Burton City Council election.
Of the City of Brenham’s 211 voters, 92 came from Ward 3, 56 from Ward 1, 38 from Ward 4 and 25 from Ward 2.
The Washington County Courthouse Annex will be open for early voting today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After today, anyone who has not voted and plans to do so will need to head to their designated polling location on Saturday.
