WASHINGTON COUNTY ADVANCES TO 8U LITTLE LEAGUE ALL STARS BASEBALL TOURNAMENT FINAL

The Washington County Green All-Stars have battled their way to the championship round of the 8U Little League All-Stars Baseball Tournament. They’ll face undefeated Bellville on Tuesday at Hempstead City Park, needing two wins to claim the title in the double-elimination format. First pitch for Game 1 is set for 6:00 p.m., with a potential Game 2 to follow at 8:00 p.m., if necessary.

Washington County Green’s path to the final hasn’t been easy. After falling to La Grange Purple 12-6 early in the tournament, they dropped into the elimination bracket—where they have caught fire, reeling off three consecutive run-rule victories.

Their turnaround began with an 11-4 win over Columbus. Next came a high-stakes matchup against Rice, the team that knocked them out last season and eliminated Washington County White this year. Washington County Green responded with a statement performance, cruising to a dominant 12-0 shutout.

That set up a highly anticipated rematch with La Grange Purple. Looking to avenge their only loss, Washington County Green delivered once again, rolling to a 16-7 win in five innings—another run-rule victory that secured their place in the championship.

Now, only Bellville stands in their way. With momentum on their side and eyes on the title, Washington County Green is ready for one final showdown.
