JUNE SALES TAX REBATES UP IN WASHINGTON CO.
All sales and tax distributions in Washington County grew in the month of June.
Washington County’s rebate this month came out to $433,864, 12.29 percent above the $386,367 rebate received in June 2024. So far this year, the county has collected $2,467,703, an increase of 4.99 percent this time a year ago, when the county had received $2,350,231.
The City of Brenham took in $878,284 this month, up 6.86 percent when compared to last June, when the city’s rebate was $821,901. The city’s receipts to date total $5,308,756, 4.39 percent more than the $5,085,315 in rebates through the first six months of 2024.
The City of Burton reported an $11,059 rebate in June, which is 27.49 percent up from what it took in last June at $8,674. Through 2025, the city has tallied $96,417 in collections, a 5.33 percent increase from the $91,531 received at this time last year.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, up 6.1 percent from last June and up 4.7 percent for the year so far.
June’s allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.
