SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORTS THREE WEEKEND ARRESTS ON CHARGES INCLUDING DWI, ASSAULT
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrests of three people between Friday and early this (Monday) morning.
Shortly before 9 a.m. Friday, Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop in the 7800 block of Highway 290 East for an expired registration. According to the sheriff’s office, numerous open alcohol containers were observed, and the driver displayed signs of intoxication. The driver, 63-year-old William Paul Foster of Warthen, Georgia, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. Foster was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Responsibility.
Just past 2:45 p.m., Deputy Presswood conducted a traffic stop at Highway 36 North and Wauls Legion Road for no front license plate. The driver, 38-year-old Anthony Deone McCoy Williams of Houston, was arrested for No Driver’s License and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
At 4:15 a.m. today, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of Old Phillipsburg Road. Upon arrival, the victim stated that her boyfriend had allegedly assaulted her. After further investigation, 22-year-old Andrew Jose Vasquez of Spring was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Unlawful Restraint and Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
