The meeting provided attendees with an update on livestock issues, agricultural trends and a recap of the past legislative session. Topics included the global market, the farm economy, New World Screwworm, estate planning, and the farm bill.
Directors representing the 3,681 Washington County Farm Bureau members at the conference were Larry and Donna Winkelmann, Russell and Mary Borgstedte, and Linda Oberhoff.
Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening said the conference gives members the chance to hear directly from agricultural experts and economists on major issues. He said it also provides them an opportunity to work together and ask questions in order to “navigate the challenges facing Texas agriculture.”
