WASHINGTON COUNTY DEFEATED IN MINOR BASEBALL TOURNAMENT FINAL

The Washington County Little League All-Stars forced a winner-take-all Game 2 in the Minor Baseball Tournament Final after shutting out Grimes County 3-0 in the first game. Despite a strong effort, Washington County was unable to complete the comeback, falling to Grimes County 10-1 in the decisive game.

Washington County's path to the final was marked by resilience. After an early 4-2 loss to Grimes County sent them to the elimination bracket, they rattled off four straight wins over La Grange, Bellville, Columbus, and Grimes County to earn another shot at the title.

In Game 2, Grimes County opened the scoring with a bases-loaded walk in the first inning. Washington County answered in the top of the second with an RBI from Tommy Asmussen, scoring Aiden Mathis. However, Grimes County's pitching and defense held Washington County scoreless from that point on, while their offense added nine more runs to secure the 10-1 win and the Minor Baseball Championship.
