FOUR ALARM CALLS, OIL SPILL SATURDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to five calls on Saturday.
Four of those calls were for alarms, including two at a residence in the 3100 block of Rolling Valley Lane around 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For both alarm reports, nothing was showing from the exterior of the home, and the homeowner advised they were able to reset the alarm.
Another alarm call came shortly after 10:30 a.m. at a residence in the 4800 block of Old Chappell Hill Road. Nothing was found on the outside of the home, and firefighters discovered no signs of smoke or fire after walking through the house.
At 1:15 p.m., the fire department was dispatched to Highway 290 East and Gun and Rod Road for a report of oil in the roadway. Upon arrival, units found a small area of oil on the ground and proceeded to wash the roadway off before returning to service.
Approaching 10:30 p.m., BFD members were called out to an alarm at a residence in the 1000 block of Davy Street. The fire department and City of Brenham Gas Department found nothing showing from the outside of the building and had no readings on their gas detectors. They spoke with the homeowner, who advised she had a bad detector.
