BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS FRIDAY TO ACCIDENT, GAS CALL

The Brenham Fire Department responded to two calls on Friday.

At 9 a.m., firefighters were called out to a residence in the 900 block of Matchett Street for a gas smell inside the home.  Nothing was showing from the exterior, but after entering the home, they found that a knob on the stove was slightly turned on.  The department turned the knob off and ventilated the home before returning to service.

Shortly after 9:15 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a transportation incident at Highway 290 East and South Chappell Hill Street.  They made location to find a two-vehicle accident.  There were no injuries, and after both vehicles were off the roadway, units cleared the call.
