CITIZENS STATE BANK CLARIFYING NO TIES TO INDUSTRY BANCSHARES, CADENCE BANK MERGER
Citizens State Bank in Somerville is clarifying it is not affiliated with the Citizens State Bank that is part of the Industry Bancshares system merging with Cadence Bank.
Last week, Cadence Bank announced the successful completion of its merger with Industry Bancschares, which is the holding company for Bank of Brenham, Industry State Bank, First National Bank of Bellville, Fayetteville Bank, First National Bank of Shiner, and a Citizens State Bank based out of Buffalo, Texas.
That bank is not associated with the Somerville-based Citizens State Bank, which also has locations in Brenham, Burton, Caldwell, Deanville, Snook and Navasota.
Citizens State Bank President and CEO Aaron Flencher wants to assure customers that the bank is not part of any merger or acquisition, and that its leadership, ownership and values have not changed.
The bank was founded in 1925, and the Flencher family’s involvement dates back to the 1940s, when Ervin B. Flencher Sr. started as a janitor and worked his way up to becoming the bank’s president.
