BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS SUNDAY TO FALLEN TREE THAT HIT POWER LINE

The Brenham Fire Department responded to two calls on Sunday.

At 11:15 a.m., units were called out to a fire alarm at a home in the 800 block of Legrand Street.  However, dispatch advised that proper code was obtained for cancellation, so the department returned to service.

Shortly before 5 p.m., BFD personnel went out to a home in the 100 block of Alois Lane for a fire investigation.  They made location to find a tree that had fallen, hitting the power lines then blocking the roadway.  Firefighters remained on scene for standby and traffic control until the City of Brenham Electric Department arrived to make repairs to the power lines.  Once the tree was removed from the roadway, the fire department cleared the call.
