BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS THURSDAY TO GAS LEAK

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Thursday.

Just before 2:30 p.m., BFD members responded to the 700 block of Perkins Lane for a gas leak.  They arrived and found that a contractor had hit a gas line while boring.  The fire department stood by with an air monitor until the leak was fixed by the City of Brenham Gas Department.

Firefighters were also called out twice to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South for fire alarms around 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.  Each call was due to a malfunctioning system, so no action was needed by the fire department.
