SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS TWO FOR POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office made a pair of controlled substance arrests between Tuesday and Wednesday.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, Corporal Solis met with the Navasota Police Department at Highway 105 and FM 159 to assume custody of an individual wanted by the sheriff’s office. 22-year-old Christopher Alexander Purvis-Torres of Navasota was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram.
Around 6 a.m. Wednesday, Corporal Salinas initiated a traffic stop in the 9600 block of Highway 290 West for an expired registration. Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana and performed a search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of various contraband. 36-year-old Christopher Felix Frausto of New Braunfels was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
