BRENHAM POLICE MAKE WEEKEND ARRESTS FOR DWI, WARRANTS
Brenham police arrested three people between Saturday and early this (Monday) morning.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 900 block of Highway 290 East in reference to a reported suspicious person. Investigation revealed that the subject, identified as 38-year-old Mitchell Paul of Chappell Hill, had two active warrants out of Washington County District Court for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd and 3rd. Paul was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, Officer Trinten Rolling and Corporal James Catchings conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Highway 36 South. Investigation determined that 24-year-old Christopher Hill of Magnolia had an active warrant out of Lee County for Failure to Comply with Duties Upon Striking a Fixed Object. Hill was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
A few minutes past 1:30 a.m. today, Sergeant Crystal Buckner observed a vehicle partially in the roadway on the feeder road near the 100 block of Highway 290 West. Police say the vehicle was unoccupied and had severe damage, and the driver was located nearby. After further investigation, 59-year-old Demetrius Cross of Katy was booked into the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd.
