BENSON HONORED BUT CUBETTES FALL TO BRIDGELAND 3-0
After playing their first sixteen matches of the season on the road, the Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team finally to play a home game last (Tuesday) night against Class 6A Bridgeland.
Unfortunately for the Cubettes, it was the Lady Bears that escaped with a 3-0 sweep at the Brenham High School Gym.
Bridgeland won sets by scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-20.
Kori Levi led the team in kills with eight. Hannah Bush and Claire Huff each had three aces. Brinley Benson dished out 12 assists and also had 11 digs on defense. Logan Hayslip led the defense with 16 digs. Antyiahna Lang had four blocks.
Prior to the game, senior setter Brinley Benson was honored for achieving her 1,000th career assist. The accomplishment came this past weekend at the Marble Falls Tournament.
Last season, Benson recorded 791 assists during her junior year, and was able to surpass the milestone in just sixteen games this season.
The loss drops Brenham to 11-6 on the season. Next up, the Cubettes will be taking part in the Legends Invitational, which runs Thursday-Saturday in Bryan.
