6 CUBS, 2 PANTHERS MAKE THSCA ACADEMIC ALL-STATE BASEBALL TEAM
The Texas High School Coaches Association has released the list of the students, who made the Walmart Academic All-State Baseball Team. Representing Washington County were six members of the Brenham Cubs, and two members of the Burton Panthers.
To make Academic All-State, a student must meet the following criteria:
Must be in good standing with their team;
Must be of good moral character,
Must be a senior,
And Must be able to maintain a 92-grade point average.
For the Cubs, Drake Bentke was named to the Academic All-State Elite Team. The Elite Team are for those that have at or near a perfect score on the criteria.
Meanwhile, Landry Mendoza, Dalton Hart, and statistician Marlie Dixon were named to the Academic All-State Second Team.
Jase Mueller and Caleb Maurer received Honorable Mention Academic All-State.
Also on the list, from the Burton Panthers, were Matthew Roemer and student manager Austin Bostain. They were each chosen as Honorable Mention Academic All-State.
