BRENHAM PD MAKES TWO WARRANT ARRESTS
Brenham police arrested two people on Thursday for various warrants.
At 7 a.m., Officer Rosa Salinas was on patrol in the 2100 block of South Market Street when she observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Yeibin Orlando Penate Ortiz of Brenham. Police say a records check revealed that Ortiz had two warrants out of Municipal Court for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and one out of Washington County for Speeding in a School Zone 10 Percent Over the Limit. The warrants were confirmed, and Ortiz was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail for the warrants.
Shortly after 11:45 a.m., Officer Salinas was patrolling the 2300 block of South Day Street when she located an individual who police say was known to have an active warrant out of the Brenham Police Department. Once identified, and once the warrant was confirmed, 44-year-old Jennifer Beaudet of Brenham was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for False Statement to a Peace Officer, Special Investigator, Law Enforcement Employee or Corrections Officer.
