LEE COUNTY FAIR THIS WEEKEND
The Lee County Fair is getting ready for a three-day run in Giddings starting on Thursday and going through Saturday.
On Thursday, the gates are scheduled to open at 4pm with the carnival running from 5-11pm.
D.J. Dustin de la Garza will provide the musical entertainment from 9-11pm.
On Friday, the gates open at 10am for Seniors Day. Seniors Day includes Bingo at 10:30am, lunch at 11:30am, a performance of Elvis Live at 12:30pm, and a 42 tournament at 2pm.
In the evening, the carnival opens from 5-11pm. That will be followed by a Cornhole Tournament at 6pm, and the Jackpot Awards from the various cookoff contests at 8:30pm.
Musical entertainment includes Crossroads from 7:30-9:30pm, and then Bombshell at 9:30pm.
Saturday’s activities start with the Armed Forces Ceremonies at 9am at Veteran’s Park in Giddings. The guest speaker will be Vietnam Era Veteran Dwayne Williams.
There will also be a Vietnam Huey Helicopter on display at the soccer field, and later in the day, the helicopter will be giving rides out at the Giddings Airport.
Those wishing to reserve a ride can call Dawn Marshall at 979-540-2733. Vietnam veterans will be given reservation priority. However, all veterans are encouraged to register.
The car show is scheduled to begin at 10am. Jeff Kimey will be performing at the car show from 10am-3pm.
The cornhole tournament is scheduled to begin at 12 noon, followed by the carnival opening at 1pm.
There will be various barbecue cookoff and drink making contests throughout the day.
The Lee County Fair posted a notice on their Facebook page that due to unforeseen circumstances, Briana Adams had to cancel her appearance.
Stepping in her place will be local talent, the Krause Trio. They will perform from 7-10pm.
Aaron Watson rounds out the Fair by taking the stage at 10:30pm.
Season tickets to the Lee County Fair are $30 for all three nights. For individual nights, they are $5 for Thursday night, and $20 if you go on Friday night, or Saturday night.
KTEX 106’s Just David will be out at the Fair broadcasting live on Friday night, while Courtney Cartwright will be there on Saturday night.
