BRENHAM MAN CHARGED WITH FRAUD, EVADING ARREST
A Brenham man was arrested on Thursday on fraud and evasion charges.
At 8:45 a.m., Brenham police officers responded to the 900 block of East Stone Street in reference to a reported burglary of a motor vehicle. The victim reported that credit/debit cards had been stolen and were recently used at a local gas station.
Through the initial investigation, officers identified a suspect and attempted to locate him at his most recent known address. Upon arrival at the address, officers made contact with the suspect, who they say fled on foot.
Police apprehended the suspect a short time later and reported locating evidence related to the investigation on his person.
34-year-old Kristopher Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked for Credit/Debit Card Abuse, Fraudulent Possession/Use of a Credit/Debit Card Under 5 Items, and Evading Arrest/Detention with Previous Conviction.
