SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES EVASION ARREST AFTER CHASE, PLUS ARRESTS FOR ASSAULT & INTOXICATION
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people on Saturday on assault, evasion and intoxication charges.
Shortly before 5 a.m., deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Highway 290 East and Bluebonnet Boulevard. The vehicle was found to be partially in the roadway, and the occupant was reported to be unconscious. After further investigation, the occupant was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for medical clearance. Upon being cleared, the occupant, identified as 25-year-old Cherokee Taylor Thrailkill of Fort Worth, was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Public Intoxication.
At 11:15 a.m., Deputy Jacob Faske observed a vehicle in the vicinity of Highway 290 West and North Berlin Road being driven by a subject with an active warrant. Deputy Faske attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed. With the assistance of the Brenham Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety, the vehicle was eventually stopped on Geers Road, where the suspect reportedly attempted to flee on foot. 33-year-old Garrett Elwood Sunderhuse of Brenham was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. He was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, Evading Arrest/Detention, Reckless Driving, and Driving While License Invalid Enhanced.
Just shy of 7:15 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 12700 block of FM 1371. After gathering details at the scene, the sheriff’s office placed 61-year-old Jacqueline Denise Washington of Chappell Hill under arrest and booked her at the Washington County Jail for Assault of a Family/Household Member Impeding Breath/Circulation.
