The Brenham Police Department reports that its Drug Investigations & Criminal Gang Enforcement (DICE) Unit, assisted by the department’s patrol division and K-9 unit, executed the warrant at a hotel in the 200 block of Highway 290 East.
Police say the operation stemmed from an ongoing narcotics investigation in which DICE investigators identified 31-year-old Tyler James Hosler of Brenham as an alleged street-level distributor of methamphetamine. Prior to the operation, a search warrant was obtained for Hosler for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram.
While executing the warrant, investigators located Hosler and took him into custody. 34-year-old Ashley Michelle Taylor of Brenham was also located inside the hotel room and was found to have an active warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, so she was also taken into custody.
Investigators subsequently searched the hotel room and reportedly located methamphetamine. As a result of the narcotics recovered during the search, Hosler and Taylor were additionally charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams. Both were transported to the Washington County Jail.
