FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING ANOTHER TRAILRIDE SHOOTING
An afterparty following a trail ride in Fayette County has once again ended in gunfire.
The shooting occurred at 11:15pm on Saturday night at the R.C. Pavilion, which is a private event venue off of Munke Road in Cozy Corner.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Lieutenant David Beyer told the Fayette County Record that deputies were working security at a family reunion on private property next to the Pavilion. This allowed them to arrive on the scene quickly.
The victim, who was described as a male in his early 20’s, had a gunshot wound to the leg.
The Fayette County EMS took the victim to a hospital, and he is expected to recover.
So far, no arrests have been made, and the case is under a further investigation.
This is the third time in a nine-month span that a shooting incident has occurred at an afterparty following a trail-ride.
The previous two shooting incidents occurred on September 28 of last year, and April 26 of this year, both of which resulted in homicides.
