GRASS FIRE, MULTIPLE ALARMS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department was called out five times on Wednesday.
At 6:30 a.m., units responded for a gas odor at a home in the 1900 block of Northview Circle Drive. They stood by until the City of Brenham Gas Department made location. After the residence was checked, the fire department cleared the call.
Around 7:30 a.m., BFD members went out for a fire alarm at QuestSpecialty Corporation, 2001 East Tom Green Street. They made location to find a manual pull station was activated. The alarm was reset.
Approaching 10:15 a.m., personnel were dispatched to a grass fire at Highway 290 West and Highway 36 South. The fire was extinguished.
A fire alarm was called in at 12:45 p.m. at Germania Insurance, 507 Highway 290 East. The alarm was determined to have a malfunction, so it was reset.
Just past 4:30 p.m., firefighters received a report of a possible structure fire at the Mill Creek Residence Hall, 1192 Old Mill Creek Road. They arrived to find no fire at the address.
