BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER FIRE CODE, LIFE SAFETY CODE
The Burton City Council will take up items with fire code at its meeting on Tuesday.
Councilmembers will consider an ordinance adopting the 2021 edition of the National Fire Protection Association Fire Code and 101 Life Safety Code. They will then act on a resolution designating the Authority Having Jurisdiction to administer and enforce the city’s adopted fire code.
In other items, the council will formalize the decision announced during last month’s regular meeting to shift to a no-cash policy for water and sewer utility payments. It will later vote on authorizing a CCTV camera inspection of the city’s wastewater infrastructure located on the Burton ISD campus, as well as the city’s wastewater line along North Railroad Street.
Additionally, the council will accept a $500 donation from WoodmenLife, designated for landscaping improvements at city hall. It will also look to amend the 2026-27 Fiscal Year budget to reflect actual revenues and expenditures.
The council will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Burton City Hall.
