BRENHAM FD CALLED OUT THURSDAY FOR ACCIDENT, FIRE ALARMS

  

The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Thursday.

Just before 2:15 p.m., units were dispatched to Brenham Presbyterian Church, 900 South Jackson Street, for a fire alarm.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building.  The department found a bad smoke detector and advised an employee what was found.

At roughly the same time, firefighters responded to a transportation incident at Highway 36 North and West Blue Bell Road.  They found a two-vehicle accident that was able to move to a parking lot.  They then cleared the scene.

Around 5:15 p.m., a fire alarm was reported at the Bert and Mae Dean Wheeler Residence Hall at Blinn College, 808 West Third Street.  Nothing was found on the outside of the building.  Units discovered a bad detector and informed maintenance. 

Close to 5:30 p.m., BFD members went out to Lubbock Street and Church Street for smoke in the area.  They arrived and found a homeowner burning in their fire pit.  The department cleared the call.
