BRENHAM CUB BAND PREPARING FOR MARCH-A-THON AUG. 7
With the start of school just a few weeks away, the Brenham Cub Band is getting ready for its annual tradition, the March-a-Thon.
On Friday, August 7th, community members are invited to come and cheer the Cub Band on as it takes to the streets of Brenham, celebrating the start of the school year with marching tunes.
The band will begin its march at 8 a.m. with a concert at First Baptist Church, before heading downtown along the traditional parade route.
From there, band members will make several stops at the new site of Citizens National Bank, Alton Elementary School and the Brenham ISD Central Office. They will then travel to Brenham Junior High School before concluding the day with a concert at Blue Bell Creameries.
Band Director Eric Rettig says the Cub Band is excited for the fall season and is already hard at work preparing for its contest production, The Mysteries of Stonehenge. He says the band looks forward to entertaining Cub fans throughout the year.
The March-a-Thon also serves as a fundraiser for the band program. Anyone interested in donating can contact Rettig at erettig@brenhamk-12.net.
