BRENHAM FD RESPONDS FOR ACCIDENTS, ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls between Thursday and early this (Friday) morning.
Just before 5:15 p.m. Thursday, units were dispatched as mutual aid for the Rocky Creek Volunteer Fire Department for a motor-vehicle-accident between a car and an 18-wheeler at Highway 36 North and FM 390. Brenham responded as a hazmat resource due to the call involving an 18-wheeler, but was cancelled enroute.
Approaching 7:30 p.m., firefighters were called out to the 1600 block of Highway 290 West for a reported structure fire. They found a one-and-a-half-story residential structure with nothing showing from the exterior. After investigating the reported electrical burning smell, they found a faulty refrigerator, so they assisted with removing the refrigerator for the homeowner and cleared the call.
At 6 a.m. today, Brenham firefighters were dispatched for mutual aid for the Burton Volunteer Fire Department for an accident with a car and an 18-wheeler at Highway 290 West and Highway 237. Brenham was called because the call involved an 18-wheeler, but was cancelled enroute since there were no hazmat needs.
